Since 2012 Marion has been developing her own choreographical work.
Her solo-piece Die Vergänglichkeit der Gänseblümchen (engl.: the transience of the daisies) and The Ripe and ruin, her duets Porzellan-Haus, Seelengrund, Eight, and Acacia confusA, her trio-work Von Anfang an der Dreiklangfang Nefelibata and Ohne Zwei and her group-pieces Stilles Ich, Equinox, Big Boys don´t cry… but when they do?, No, women no cry… but when they do?, Side(d)effect, Shell Shock and Impromptu have been performed at several international venues and festivals in Europe, North- and South America as well as Asia.
Since several years her choreographical work has been supported by Amt für Deutsche Kultur Südtirol, Provinz Trentino-Südtirol, the city of Bolzano and the Stiftung Sparkasse Südtirol, and been produced by IDEA - Tanz Theater Performance under the direction of Doris Plankl.

Synopsis The dance theatre piece combines several art forms and celebrates physical dance and its associated expressiveness. Video art, painting, music, and dance merge into each other and illuminate the symbolic motifs of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who colorfully depicted her life and fate on paper in a colorful way. The exchange of the artist's suffering and the integration of this condition into her work, as well as the choreographer's autobiographical background to the subject, are the center points of this piece. The video projection by Projeto Solo creates surreal paintings live on stage and is accompanied by the abstract sounds of the musician Arash Khodayari. Dynamic, distorted, dreamy, and playful – the contours between body and painting become blurred and invite the audience to journey into the subconscious.

Big Boys don’t cry… but when they do?
An interdisciplinary performance with five dancers and one live musician. The piece is touching the limits of contemporary dance and combines contemporary circus with dance-theatre in the frame of a concert.
The residency and premiere took place at Katapult Berlin and the videoprojection of the piece done by Projeto Solo was streamed at Alps Move Festival (Italy) and Die Bäckerei (Austria) in October 2020.

Synopsis Big Boys don´t cry… but when they do? is a multidisciplinary dance theater performance. Influenced by the art disciplines of dance, circus, and music, the traditional image of men is questioned in a sarcastic and theatrical way. What does it mean to be a man? What effects do emancipation, equality, and upbringing have on men? Six men and six nationalities examine behavior, expectations, and traditions. Inspired by stereotypical movement patterns, the choreographer asks the dancers to examine different roles of the man and to represent them with the help of different dynamics. The dancers provoke and disturb the audience by changing abruptly between movement qualities, characters, and emotions. Impressive movement material and recognizable mood swings capture the audience's attention and are an exciting experience for every age group, especially for pubescent audiences. The guitarist, Sebastian Vidal, reacts improvising to the different moods of the performers and creates images of the choreographer. Metallic beats and subtle, atmospheric soundscapes support the performance.

The dance theater piece Von Anfang an der Dreiklangfang experiments with movement, content, live-electronics and the poetry of the inexhaustible possibilities of the triad.
The manifold triads, the symbolism, the geometric form, the harmony and disharmony, as well as the play between three components and energies offer the basis of the composed sound carpet, the physical and energetic movement filled with partnering elements and the dramaturgy of the piece.
The choreography and music will vary from part to part. The three parts stand in the middle of a whole piece: each part of the piece can stand alone - it is plausible isolated in its form, but combines homogeneously with the other parts to form a triade.

Synopsis Von Anfang an der Dreiklangfang deals with the triad and the associated question of how to benefit from the special geometry of a triad, to see it as a catch and something positive and not to feel trapped in this particular constellation. Triangular constellations are often problematic in life or in great art and often end fatally. Just think of the Iliad, Othello, Woyzeck, the great novels of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, etc. But here it is quite different: through the intensive music and movement research, the piece by Marion Sparber, who acts in the dual role of choreographer and dancer, has become a profound study of the odd number three, allowing for communication, lateral thinking, argumentation and space for a broad spectrum of passions, rather than limiting itself to a basic mutual agreement. It emphasizes the life-affirming energy of the triad.

In Stilles Ich (Silent me) explores human identity in the field of tension between the real and the virtual world. Synopsis No woman, no cry… but when they do? is a multidisciplinary dance-theater performance, influenced by the artistic disciplines of dance, theatre and live music, that questions the traditional image of femininity in a sarcastic way. What does it mean to be a woman these days? What impact does education, emancipation, equality and gender struggle have on femininity? What is un-female and why are we still at a disadvantage in many areas? Along with seven women of different nationalities and age groups, Sparber investigates behavior, expectations and traditions. To what extent is the definition of femininity influenced by your culture? In No, woman, no cry... but when they do? the behaviors, customs, traditions and expectations of several continents collide. Even in childhood there are few differences between girls and boys, both cry equally. But what happens when they grow up? To what extent does the role of the mother influence emotionality? An important part of research for her is emotion. It also helps us to communicate our feelings and thoughts. How do we relate and what do we need from our partners? Sparber finds it particularly exciting, because as a woman she can delve into the emotional world she knows best after a purely male play and can also shed light on the particular female sensitivity and empathy.

Synopsis The very physical and by partnering work defined dance piece Porzellan-Haus is an attempt to symbolize the complexity of a relationship between a man and a woman. The idea of construction with a partner: be it a house, a life, a future or a shared dream is often very fragile and precious, such as a porcelain house. A material that comes from manual labor, needs a lot of patience and sensitivity. It is something very beautiful, like a love you cherish and nurture and try to keep alive for years. Porcelain is also known and loved for its high value, but also has its fragile side — a metaphor for interpersonal relationships. Often one wonders how despite all difficulties it is possible to preserve this feeling between two people, to nurture and maintain it alive and keep building a porcelain house together.

Synopsis To make this feeling of all things being connected and the dissolution of opposites tangible, she divides the space with a translucent screen onto which movements from everyday life are projected. Shell Shock
Shell Shock shows four different personalities who share the same room with all their bizarre, funny, or neurotic traits. The pop-art videoprojection adds on the edge, humor and critic in this piece. Unfortunately it deals with the crisis of our century, war, the shell shock state, the trauma, destroyed believes and fairytales. More than ever it is describing a society in need to wake up and it is on the pulse of time.

Radix
The root (radix) is a leafless, usually subterranean part of the plant that is anchored in the soil, absorbs water and nutrient salts and serves as a storage organ. The root network (radix) creates the basis on which life develops, adapts and changes, like a tree that stretches its branches out in the direction where they can develop best. In this way, every plant is based on a complex system in which every tiny part communicates and interacts with each other, weaving a dense network.

Synopsis In the dance production Radix, South Tyrolean dancers meet on fertile terrain, stretch their roots into the ground, explore the relationship between their bodies and their behavior towards each other. In this choreographic collaboration, the aim is to create a framework that in turn forms part of a larger whole and leads to an interconnected system such as that of society, the internet, the forest, the financial markets, the human brain and the light of each individual star.

Self-finished
The duet self-finished is inspired by the physical behaviour of becoming a shape between two very distinctive individuals. How can we emphathize and compenetrate with the other that much to feel an entity and still be true to ourselves? The inside surface of the mold is so smooth that the shape that is extruded from it is also smooth. Once a polymer has been cut or shaped from its original shape, the edge that has been cut may become rough and will need to be finished.

A danced plea for colors
Black-and-white thinking is widespread, but dangerous: it only allows for all or nothing. Success or failure. Victory or defeat. Perfect or not at all. Our fast-paced, media-driven world favors this way of thinking. When the complexity of reality seems unmanageable and threatening, when floods of information meet short attention spans, thinking in extremes becomes more attractive.

Synopsis In reality, extremes are completely unlikely. Life takes place between the poles: across the entire color spectrum. Whether we see and appreciate these colors or not is up to us. Eight
As the name says, it is a piece that talks about the number eight.
A perfect number in shape, as it is formed by two equal circles joined together by an infinite line, which in turn is the symbol of the balance between antagonistic forces. An infinite line, which in turn is the symbol of the balance between antagonistic forces. It represents the eternal cosmic movement, the eternal base spiral of regeneration and infinity. Therefore, in "Eight" it is possible to visualize how through the body one can find the different possibilities to find this state. With the help of arms, legs, and movement in space, distance, and proximity, play, struggle, and harmony we experiment with these elements that play an important role in the piece.

Impromptu
The word “Impromptu” translates to “extempore”, “unannounced” and “improvised”. Rather than conceived steps direct movements close to the body are interesting to the composition in space. We play with movement, space, music and words and no rules apply.
